Alma Mater Studiorum - Università di Bologna

Davide Domini is a postdoctoral researcher working on the FoMaSE project at the University of Bologna (Italy). He holds a master’s degree with honors in Computer Science and Engineering from the same university, where he has recently completed his doctoral research and is awaiting his thesis defense, scheduled for April. His research focuses on machine learning in pervasive and collective adaptive systems, with particular interests in self-organizing federated learning, decentralized multi-agent reinforcement learning, and macroprogramming. He has authored more than 20 publications in international journals and conferences on these topics. He has also contributed to open-source research software, including Phyelds, a Python implementation of aggregate computing, and ProFed, a benchmark for federated learning with spatially structured non-IID data. He served as Program Chair of the AI4AS 2026 workshop, co-located with ACSOS 2026, and has been a member of the ACSOS organizing committee for several years. He has also served on program committees and reviewed for international conferences and journals, including AAAI, AAMAS, ACSOS, ACM Transactions on Autonomous and Adaptive Systems, Future Generation Computer Systems, and Pervasive and Mobile Computing.
